An excerpt from a new suite of poems entitled This Mess written by yours truly during foreign ventures and escapades of "study".
Welcome to the overt themes of stress and procrastination, of cramming and last minute preparation and finally, venting frustration against literary characters whose fault it most certainly wasn't.
the importance of being earnest
and avoiding Heathcliff
at all costs
ensures you Retain Your Property
and the right to tell him
Because, you know how to spell it
and read your name above your door
so you Don’t fall in love
with forlorn first cousins,
screw up your family tree
eventually weirding out
seventeen and eighteen year old randoms
who chose not to damn the curate
and as a reward
ended up being forced
to read about you
This Mess will be released within the next two weeks on-line at a site which is yet to be advised.
Look forward to it. Constructive criticism is appreciated.
